Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on expanding the network of non-state educational institutions and increasing the participation of entrepreneurs in this process.

According to the resolution, from 1 January 2025:

- Compensation is provided for part of the interest rate on loans in the amount of up to 20 billion soums provided by commercial banks in the national currency at market interest rates for non-state educational institutions at the expense of the state budget.

- Business entities constructing new buildings for these institutions or launching educational activities in their own buildings are provided with a 5-year compensation of 50% of utility costs.

- Legal entities are given the right to deduct in equal shares for 2 years expenses for the construction of buildings for non-state educational institutions when calculating income tax until January 1, 2030.

Local authorities are also obliged to:

- Determine optimal land plots by 1 March annually.

- Submit an address list of plots of at least 50 hectares to the Government for approval before 1 April.

- Put the plots up for auction through "E-auksion" before 1 May in accordance with the approved list.

If plots are not sold at auction for more than 3 months, they are subject to re-auction with a mechanism for reducing the initial cost to 50% without removal from auction.
