The names and powers of government bodies are being clarified

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-seventh plenary meeting of the Senate, the Law “On amendments to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at bringing the names of republican executive bodies in line” was considered.

It was noted that in recent years, in our country, as part of the ongoing administrative reforms, the system of public administration in the field of agriculture and food security, as well as in the national defense industry, has been improved, and priority areas for the effective organization of the activities of ministries and departments in these areas have been identified.

The law clarifies the norms of some laws in accordance with the new edition of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as to which government bodies the powers of the abolished, reorganized and organizational subordination of the changed government bodies have been transferred.

On the basis of the State Committee for Defense Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Defense Industry Agency under the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Unitary Enterprise “O’ztextreyd” under the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade were created, in connection with which changes are being made to the laws.

As part of the administrative reform, the Inspectorate for Control of the Agro-Industrial Complex, the Committee for the Development of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, and the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection were created as republican executive bodies transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture. Also, the Inspectorate for Monitoring the Safety of Water Facilities under the Ministry of Water Resources was renamed into the Inspectorate for Monitoring the Safety of Water Facilities and Water Use. In this regard, appropriate changes are being made to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the laws “On Water and Water Use”, “On Veterinary Medicine”, “On Plant Quarantine” and other laws.

The senators especially noted that the Law serves to clarify the powers of the republican executive authorities in the agricultural sector, in the field of water management and the defense industry, and to form a comprehensive system.

At the end of the discussion, the Law was approved by the senators.
