Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At a meeting held on 14 April under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the results achieved in the field of information technology and tasks for 2022, the country’s leader emphasized the need to turn Uzbekistan into a regional IT center.

Based on this, on 18 April, the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov held an online meeting with representatives of Microsoft.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of Microsoft, the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States.

During the meeting, topical and promising areas of cooperation were discussed.

Serious attention was paid to the development of IT education. Issues of even greater involvement of young people in these processes, training of qualified personnel were considered.

It was also proposed by the Ministry of Information and Communications to open a development office for the company in Uzbekistan.

The parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation and continue work on the implementation of joint projects.
