Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan has denied claims regarding alleged instructions to shut down electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
The ministry stated that such reports, circulated on social media, do not reflect reality.
According to the ministry, certain social media platforms and news outlets have shared information suggesting that EV charging stations are being shut down without legal grounds and that the ministry supposedly ordered their closure. The Ministry of Energy’s press service refuted these claims.
"At present, there are no issues with electricity generation in our country, and the energy produced fully meets our needs," the ministry clarified.
The ministry further emphasized that no orders to halt the operation of charging stations have been issued.
The Ministry of Energy actively supports the adoption of electric vehicles in Uzbekistan, stressing that these vehicles play a significant role in improving environmental conditions.
"If you encounter any obstacles to the legitimate activities of entrepreneurs involved in the installation of EV charging stations, please contact the Ministry of Energy’s hotline at +99871-231-16-61 (extensions 7037, 7046, and 7057)," the ministry’s statement reads.
