The men’s team of Uzbekistan become the champion of the World Chess Olympiad

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The men’s team of Uzbekistan became the winner of the World Chess Olympiad in Chennai (India).

In the 11th round of the tournament, the team of Uzbekistan beat the team of the Netherlands with a score of 2.5:1.5 and became the champion of the World Chess Olympiad. It should be noted that this is the first victory of the Uzbekistan national team in the World Chess Olympiad.

Nodirbek Abdusattorov (born in 2004), Nodirbek Yakubboev (2002), Javokhir Sindarov (2005), Jahongir Vakhidov (1995) and Shamsiddin Vohidov (2002) were part of the national team of Uzbekistan.

The World Chess Olympiad is a team tournament for teams that are members of the FIDE (International Chess Federation). The tournament was first held in 1927 in London. Since 1950, competitions have been held every two years.
