The meeting was held with the delegation of Japan within the framework of strengthening the strategic partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Economy and Finance hosted a meeting with a Japanese delegation headed by Mr. Ryosuke Kozuki, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, the press service of the Uzbek ministry said.

On the Uzbek side, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Jasur Karshibaev and responsible officials of the Ministry participated. On the foreign side, Hatori Takashi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan, as well as Masashi Watanabe, Vice President of the Japan Association for Trade with Newly Independent States (ROTOBO) and representative of Sumitomo Corporation participated.

During the meeting, the sides noted the steady positive dynamics of development and expansion of practical interaction between the public sectors and business circles of the two countries. The sides emphasized the effectiveness of the Uzbek-Japanese business forum with the participation of major Japanese corporations, during which a solid package of documents was signed.

State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Ryosuke Kozuki emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan, as well as the successful experience of participation of Japanese companies in the development of industrial potential of the republic. According to him, "Uzbekistan has the largest and youngest human resources" in the region and is "the engine of economic development in Central Asia".

Discussed the preparations for the planned high-level event in April this year in Kazakhstan - the Summit of Heads of State in the format of "Central Asia + Japan".

In addition, the effective cooperation of the Ministry with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the field of advanced training of civil servants, in particular assistant khokims, along with the importance of creating favorable conditions for stimulating investments by Japanese entrepreneurs in the private sector of Uzbekistan, was emphasized.
