Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 December, the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Valery Gergiev will perform at the Palace of International Forums “Uzbekistan” in Tashkent at the closing ceremony of the “Russian Seasons” project, which in 2023 was held in Uzbekistan for the first time. The closing ceremony will feature the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra conducted by People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Valery Gergiev with the participation of laureates of the XVII International Competition. P.I. Tchaikovsky.
The works of Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Rodion Shchedrin, Georges Bizet and other famous composers, whose operas and concerts are included in the golden fund of the world repertoire, will be performed.
“Russian Seasons” opened in Uzbekistan in May with the play “12” by the Center for Theater and Cinema under the direction of Nikita Mikhalkov on the stage of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater named after Alisher Navoi.
Then 39 different events took place in the cities of the republic, including the exhibition of the Russian National Museum of Music “Rachmaninov and Chaliapin. Parallels and intersections", master classes by teachers from GITIS and VGIK, a concert by the Honored Artist of Russia, laureate of international competitions Ildar Abdrazakov, tours of the State Academic Central Puppet Theater named after Obraztsov and the Satyricon Theater, lectures and screenings of cartoons from the Soyuzmultfilm studio, a series of folk concerts artist of Russia and the Republic of Abkhazia Khibla Gerzmava, chamber ensemble “Moscow Soloists” under the direction of People’s Artist of the USSR Yuri Bashmet.
The international project “Russian Seasons” to present Russian culture is annually held abroad. “Russian Seasons” include classical music concerts and theater productions, film festivals, art exhibitions and educational projects. In total, during its existence, “Russian Seasons” was visited by more than 13 million viewers.
