Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In Tashkent, with the participation of representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan, a ceremony of handing over books to the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" was held.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Darkhan Satybaldy.
During the conversation, D. Satybaldy noted that Kazakhstan highly appreciates the attention given in Uzbekistan to the education sector and the introduction of the latest techniques in higher educational institutions of the country. It was especially emphasized that the formation of the library of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" with world literature on tourism, history and culture of peoples on the Great Silk Road will serve to further improve the professional level of personnel in the field of tourism and the development of the tourism industry in Central Asia.
Abdukhakimov also expressing gratitude for the initiative of the Kazakh side, noted the readiness of Uzbekistan to deepen cooperation with the countries of the Central Asian region on the development of the tourism sector, training in this direction, the introduction of new regional tourist routes, as well as the early launch of a single "Silkvisa" for visiting republics of Central Asia.
The International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" was opened in the city of Samarkand under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports in 2018 at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The purpose of creating this higher educational institution is to strengthen the human resources of the country’s tourism industry and international academic cooperation in the field of tourism, the development of historical, cultural and humanitarian ties of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
