Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 August 2020, in Baku, an Uzbek delegation consisting of leading analytical centers - MICA, ISMI, IACMO, IMRI, CERR met with representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the state and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the field of transport and transit.

Representatives of the Ministry were informed about the projects being implemented in Uzbekistan, carried out within the framework of the program for improving the transport infrastructure and diversifying foreign trade routes, the progress of the development of projects for the construction of railway lines "Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China", "Termer-Mazari-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar", etc. .

The importance of developing and improving existing and new transport and transit corridors and a network of logistics centers was emphasized. The need for further close cooperation in the issue of strengthening transport and logistics routes between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, as well as Central Asia and the South Caucasus was named important.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the close work of relevant structures with the involvement of the expert and academic community of the two countries.
