Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Law “On the safety of hydraulic structures”.

Hydraulic structures include:

reservoir dams;

dams on rivers, sai, canals and collectors;

structures blocking riverbeds;

water intake, culvert, spillway and bank protection structures;

hydroelectric power plants;

pumping stations.

Hydraulic structures are assigned classes I, II, III and IV. They are assigned based on:

parameters of design indicators of hydraulic structures;

loads and factors of influence on them;

materials used in construction;

operating conditions.

The specially authorized state body in this area is the Inspectorate for Control over the Safety of Water Management Facilities and Water Use under the Ministry of Water Resources. Among other things, it has the right to prohibit, suspend or restrict the economic activities of organizations that use water management facilities or engage in economic or other activities in the channels of rivers, sais, above and below the junction with hydraulic structures, if this activity adversely affects their safety.

The prohibition, suspension or restriction of the activities of business entities is carried out in court, with the exception of cases of suspension or restriction of their activities for a period of not more than 10 working days due to emergencies, epidemics, pandemics, as well as the need to prevent a real threat to the life and health of the population, property of individuals and legal entities.
