The Italian film festival N.I.C.E started in Samarkand.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 to 4 November, the XVI Verona Eurasian Economic Forum, organized by the International Association “Studying Eurasia” and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, will be held in Samarkand.

As part of the cultural program of the forum, in collaboration with the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Center for Cinematography Development, a new Italian film festival N.I.C.E (New Italian Cinema Events) will be organized.

More than 30 years have passed since the founding of this festival. (Its debut took place in the USA in 1988). Association N.I.C.E. is considered one of the first exporters of high-quality debut Italian films and has been organizing the most important film festivals abroad for many years.

The goal of the project is to promote new Italian films in different countries of the world through festivals and cultural exchanges. Another important goal of the festival is to show the value of cultural diversity through films. Feature films, short films and documentaries by Italian filmmakers, carefully selected for screening, reflect the history of Italian life and its culture.

The opening ceremony of the festival will take place in Samarkand on 1 November at the “Star of the East” cinema. Also, as part of the festival, films in Italian with Uzbek subtitles will be shown: “The Long Road” (“La lunga corsa”), “Amanda”, “The Sun of the Future” (“Il col della avvenire”).
