Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan paid a visit to Milan to study best practices in the field of culture and art, Dunyo news agency reported.
During the visit, the Embassy of Uzbekistan, with the assistance of the Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (CIUZ), organized meetings with the management of one of the most prestigious theaters in the world - the La Scala Opera House, its Academy and the Ballet School. Members of the Uzbek delegation got acquainted with the work of the Academy, its structure and organization, visited the examinations for young dancers that were taking place at that time.
The Academy of Theater La Scala consists of 4 schools-faculties: music, dance, stagecraft and management. More than a thousand students study here annually (about 500 in professional courses and 500 in beginner courses) from all over the world in 30 programs. Teaching is based on training and practice. Students regularly participate in concerts, performances, exhibitions, seminars along with famous directors, singers, conductors and dancers. With graduates who have achieved success in their studies and professional development, contracts are concluded to work in the La Scala theater. According to the director of the Academy, Luisa Vinci, every year this educational institution allocates 600,000 euros in grants for students.
During the negotiations, the parties expressed interest in establishing cooperation in training personnel for theaters in Uzbekistan, both in the course of education in the field of entertainment and in theater management. In addition, it was decided to conclude an agreement on cooperation between the La Scala Theater Academy, the relevant theater of Uzbekistan and the Uzbekistan-Italy Chamber of Commerce during the next meeting.
Theater director Franco Malgrande gave a tour of the theater, spoke about its organizational structure, the number and distribution of staff, board members and their functions.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest and readiness for joint work. The issue of organizing a tour of the La Scala theater to Uzbekistan was also discussed.
