Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The State Tax Committee hosted an official opening ceremony of the Interregional State Tax Inspectorate for Large Taxpayers, which was created in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for radical improvement activities of the state tax service” from 26 June 2018.
This kind of inspection in our country was created for the first time and when organizing its activities together with experts from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the experience of many countries of the world was taken into account.
As noted at the event, modern tax administration divides taxpayers into segments and aims to facilitate the voluntary fulfillment of tax obligations and the prevention of tax law offenses.
Since July, a lot of work has been done to provide inspection with qualified personnel. Given the complexity of the activities of large taxpayers, 116 professional professionals were gathered to provide them with quality services.
Along with this, a list of 1416 large enterprises, organizations and institutions that bring about half of all state budget revenues from taxes has been compiled. 523 of them are manufacturing enterprises, and 893 are commercial banks and their branches.
The question is, by what criteria are enterprises classified as large taxpayers? Clear criteria have been developed, in particular:
- enterprises and organizations for which the net revenue from the sale of goods (works, services), received at the end of the calendar year, exceeds 100 billion soums;
- enterprises producing excisable goods, banks and their branches participating in financial markets, commodity-raw materials, stock and currency exchanges;
- mining and metallurgical enterprises operating under production sharing agreements.
The implementation of full tax administration of large taxpayers will serve as a way to a higher quality level of service-oriented service.
