The international standard ISO 9001:2015 is being introduced in the system of the Ministry of Finance

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan plans to improve the quality of work and administrative management processes in ministries and agencies, including the introduction of the international standard of quality management system (ISO:9001) to the activities of ministries and agencies.

Based on the order of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 130 from 19 September 2022, the Ministry of Finance is conducting practical work on the gradual introduction of the ISO 9001:2015 international standard.

In particular, training courses have been organized for the responsible employees of the ministry in connection with the introduction of this standard. According to the results of the training courses, Deputy Minister of Finance, Gulnora Rakhimova - head of the working group, handed over special certificates to the responsible employees of the ministry.

The ISO 9001:2015 international standard is one of the most influential standards aimed at increasing the efficiency and quality of work on an international scale, and is mainly a management mechanism. The main purpose of this standard is to reduce, eliminate and prevent errors and defects. The standard is directly related not only to the quality of the provided services, but also to the quality management system.

Today, more than a million companies and organizations in more than 170 countries have the ISO 9001:2015 international standard, and this number is increasing.

This standard is based on a number of principles of quality management, such as effective management of the organization’s activities, quality approach to each process and continuous improvement.

The international standard ISO 9001:2015 contains simple general requirements. It can be applied to any sector, whether large or small, including government agencies.

It is known from foreign experience that the ISO 9001:2015 international standard is the most widely used standard by government agencies.

The international standard ISO 9001:2015 was developed in 1984 and was revised four times (1994, 2000, 2008 and 2015), recognized as the latest version of the international standard and it was considered as a management criterion aimed at improving the activity of state bodies and increasing the efficiency of their activities.

For example, the introduction of this standard in the USA made it possible to optimize the number of civil servants up to 250 thousand. In France, 85 percent of all public administration bodies are certified according to the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2015. Canada was one of the first to implement this standard in public bodies, and the United Arab Emirates has been effectively implementing the quality management system in its public administration for several decades.

Although the number of state bodies that have implemented this standard in Uzbekistan is not very high, this indicator has been increasing in recent years. The reason for this is the result of the special attention given by the head of state and the government in order to more effectively organize the management system in state bodies through the introduction of this standard.

Today, in important processes such as attracting foreign investments, it is appropriate that the introduction of this standard in state bodies or other organizations serves as an important factor in making investments for investors.
