The international standard “E-freight” to be introduced in the field of air cargo transportation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to increase the competitiveness of air cargo transportation in Uzbekistan, simplify business processes by establishing interdepartmental exchange of information on the principle of "One Stop Shop", a regular meeting was held to accelerate the implementation of the international standard “E-freight” in the field of air cargo transportation.

At the meeting chaired by Deputy Minister of Transport Jasurbek Choriyev, representatives of relevant ministries and departments exchanged views on the existing problems of implementing the international standard "E-freight" for electronic execution and maintenance of documents in the field of air cargo transportation and their solution.

The introduction of the E-freight standard for electronic processing and maintenance of documents in the field of air cargo transportation in accordance with the recommendation of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) is part of an international industry program aimed at simplifying business processes, reducing costs and accelerating the exchange of information.

The purpose of introducing this standard is to increase reliability, reduce the time of delivery of goods, as well as the cost of electronic processing and support of documents in the process of air transportation of goods. In addition, the standard provides improved information security and reliability for regulators.

During the meeting, a presentation and study of the activities of electronic platforms used in the process of registration of cargo transportation by air in leading foreign countries was held.

As a result of the meeting, members of ministries and departments included in the working group were given specific instructions for the further implementation of work and tasks, and a mechanism was developed to accelerate the implementation of E-freight, the press service of the Ministry of Transport reports.
