The International Program for the Training of Specialists in Public-Private Partnership ends

The goal of the Program is to strengthen the capacity of state bodies of Uzbekistan in the implementation of public-private partnership programs, taking into account advanced foreign practices in this area.

The program was developed by the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank and supported by other international banks. Successfully passed the examinations of all three levels receive globally recognized certificates of a specialist in the field of public-private partnership - CP3P.

Sergey Samolis , project manager for the Eurasian Development Bank, a member of the Expert Council of the National Center for Public-Private Partnership of Russia said:

- For the successful implementation of PPP projects in Uzbekistan, all the basic conditions have been created, the main thing is that there is support from the country’s leadership. Considering this, international financial structures show great interest, offering their global experience, resources that can and should be used in PPP projects in Uzbekistan. A “bottleneck” in every country that is starting a long journey in PPP is not a sufficiently high level of skills and knowledge in this area among local specialists. They are being improved by international partners, in particular, the IFC, ”said one of the lecturers Sergey Samolis, project manager for the Eurasian Development Bank, a member of the Expert Council of the National Center for Public-Private Partnership of Russia,“ we gave the seminar participants knowledge of the realities of public-private partnerships, current trends in different countries, first of all, close to Uzbekistan. This is Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia. Dismantled many practical projects, including with the participation of international banks. The experience of Russia has shown that the first to successfully pass this exam, quickly go on increasing in state structures and in the private sector.

The students analyzed in detail how PPPs work in practice, as evidenced by their successful passing of examinations: 23 specialists from nine ministries for the first time in the country received relevant international certificates.

It is important that there are more specialists who understand the intricacies of public-private partnerships. This is especially true for Uzbekistan, where the development of such a mechanism is just beginning, and representatives of the ministries have already paid attention to the listeners from the first group.
