Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 6 to 10 April, the International Olympiad in mathematics for students of pre-university educational institutions of the CIS member states was held at the Khorezm Military Academic Lyceum named after Jaloliddin Manguberdi (Urgench, Republic of Uzbekistan).
Pupils of grades 8–11 of the Minsk Suvorov Military School, the Kyrgyz National Military Lyceum named after Hero of the Soviet Union Major General Dair Asanov, the St. Petersburg Suvorov Military School, the Ferghana Military Academic Lyceum “Temurbeklar Maktabi” and the Khorezm Military Academic Lyceum named after Jaloliddin Manguberdi took part in the Olympics.
Students of the Khorezm Military Academic Lyceum took part in the Olympics for the first time, outside of competition.
For the participants of the Olympiad, the most difficult tasks were provided, to solve which the children had to apply all their knowledge.
The jury included teachers-leaders of teams of pre-university educational institutions of the CIS member states. The jury was headed by B.Sh. Faizullaev, a teacher at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Physics of Urgench State University.
The winner of the absolute championship of the final stage of the International Olympiad and the winner of the Cup of the Chairman of the Council of Defense Ministers of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation was the team of the St. Petersburg Suvorov Military School.
The team from the Ferghana Military Academic Lyceum “Temurbeklar Maktabi” won the silver medal, and the bronze medal from the Minsk Suvorov Military School.
In the individual championship, the jury members especially noted the successes of Suvorov students from the St. Petersburg Suvorov Military School - Nikita Kolomeets, he became the best among 8 classes, Andrey Zlobin distinguished himself among 9 classes, Ivan Seliverstov among 11 classes.
The strongest tenth grader in mathematics was Yakhshiboev Fayziddin from the Ferghana Military Academic Lyceum.
For active participation in the Olympiad and the will to win, the team members of the Kyrgyz National Military Lyceum named after Major General Dair Asanov were awarded.
The days of the Olympics were very eventful: the students not only showed their knowledge in mathematics, but also participated in military sports games, where they demonstrated excellent military sports training.
In their free time from competitive tasks, the participants of the International Olympiad got acquainted with the sights of the city of Urgench and made a fascinating excursion trip to the ancient city of Khiva, whose history goes back more than 2500 years.
