Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 August 2022, the International Festival of National Dishes "Welcome to Bustanlik" was held for the first time in Bustanlyk district of Tashkent region.

More than 9.5 thousand guests took part in the festival, including representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, the media, as well as residents and guests from many regions of Uzbekistan.

The event featured national dishes from more than 20 districts and cities of Tashkent region, including traditional Uzbek pilaf, sukok kebab, ethnic dish kala-pocha, naryn, khasyp, mampar, tandoor kabob, samsa and many others.

Following the results of the festival, the Awarding Ceremony was held, where participants from all districts of Tashkent region were awarded certificates and valuable prizes. Also in the nomination "Masters of Uzbek pilaf" were awarded citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, who prepared a traditional national dish for the guests of the festival.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Khokimiyat of Tashkent region. Also, the National PR Center, the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Tashkent region with the support of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the all-season resort Amirsoy Resort and other organizations took part in organizing the event.

The first International Festival of National Dishes "Welcome to Bustanlik" served as a good platform for the development and promotion of gastronomic tourism in the region and strengthening cooperation between entrepreneurs in the field of public catering.
