Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 111th session of the International Labor Conference of the International Labor Organization is being held in Geneva, Switzerland. The attention of the world community is drawn to the discussions of this session, where new strategic approaches to the development of social and labor relations on a global scale, global initiatives are discussed.

The head of the delegation of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, during her speech at the plenary session of the Conference, familiarized the international community with the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan to ensure social justice.

– Social justice is not only a criterion of morality, but also the basis of national stability and well-being. We highly appreciate cooperation with the ILO, which is a leader in the promotion of national decent work programs, the development of social dialogue, social protection of the population, employment and labor protection, and support the initiative of the ILO Director-General to create a Coalition for Social Justice as a condition for peace, stability and sustainable development.

We are confident that the entry of Uzbekistan, at the initiative of the ILO, into this Coalition as one of the first countries will serve to improve the investment climate in the country, develop the economy and business, as well as strengthen cooperation with the countries of Central Asia on labor and social justice, - said the Senate Chairperson.

The International Labor Conference adopts ILO conventions and recommendations developed by representatives of governments, workers and employers. Conventions are legally binding international treaties that can be ratified by ILO member states.
