Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan organized the Samarkand Marathon race for the fifth time.

The event brought together more than 3,000 participants from 43 countries.

The race took place in the historical part of Samarkand. The start and finish were located on Registan Square. Participants had access to various distances running along the central streets of the city, with views of the cultural and historical monuments of Samarkand.

The Samarkand Marathon charity race program was divided into 2 days:

4 November – races for children from 4 years old and Nordic (Scandinavian) walking.

5 November – running competitions at a distance: marathon 42.2K, half marathon 21.1K, races for 10K, 5K and 2K, as well as 2K for people with visual disabilities.

The winners of the marathon and half marathon were awarded cash prizes:

Marathon 42.2K, men:

1st place: Boymatov Begzod. The result is 02:23:18.

2nd place: Amangos Islam. The result is 02:27:44.

3rd place: Janarstanov Yerjan. The result is 02:28:27.

Marathon 42.2K, women:

1st place: Katerina Vasilchenko. The result is 03:13:04.

2nd place: Talacheva Sabina. The result is 03:23:53.

3rd place: Popova Olga. The result is 03:37:33.

Half Marathon 21.1K, men:

1st place: Mikhail Kulkov. The result is 01:07:08.

2nd place: Mutalipov Nodirbek. The result is 01:08:31.

3rd place: Mamatkomilov Oybek. The result is 01:08:44.

Half Marathon 21.1K, women:

1st place: Svetlana Kudelich. The result is 01:17:54.

2nd place: Khurramova Shokhsanam. The result is 01:19:54.

3rd place: Mirzakbarova Aziza. The result is 01:22:47.

The winner in the 10K distance among men was Makhmudaliev Akhror with a result of 32:25, among women - Ablaeva Kamlova with a result of 40:08.

The winner in the 5K distance among men was Khojamov Dilmurod with a result of 15:56, among women - Silchenkova Anastasia 19:11.

The winner in the 2K distance among men was Saparov Alisher with a result of 06:00, among women - Abdujalilova Farangiz 08:34.

The 5K distance is included in the Samarkand Marathon program for the first time in 2023.
