The implementation of the State budget of Uzbekistan in nine months of 2020 was discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During the tenth plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the report of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the execution of the State budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for nine months of 2020 was heard.

It was noted that the implementation of the Law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020" is organized within the established parameters, taking into account the complex processes taking place in the world economy.

In the execution of the budget, special attention was paid to the implementation of decrees and resolutions adopted by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as decisions of the Anti-Crisis Commission to Combat Coronavirus Infection.

In order to achieve macroeconomic stability and economic growth in the reporting period, the gross domestic product in current prices amounted to 408.3 trillion soums.

This shows the provision of growth by 0.4% compared to the same period last year. In particular, growth was achieved in agriculture by 3.4%, in construction by 8.6%, in the production of consumer goods by 2.3%.

In the reporting period, State budget revenues were fulfilled in the amount of 94.4 trillion soums, which exceeds the established forecast by 2.9%. And the expenses amounted to 102.2 trillion soums or 25.0% in relation to GDP.

In the reporting period, 53.7 trillion soums were spent to finance social spending, accounting for 52.5% of total expenses. At the same time, 50.4 trillion soums were spent at the expense of budgetary funds and 3.3 trillion soums at the expense of the Anti-Crisis Fund. For the healthcare sector, 2.7 trillion soums were allocated of the Anti-Crisis Fund.

In particular, 1.5 trillion soums were spent on material incentives, for medicines and medical devices, protective equipment, tests, antiseptics and disinfectants, as well as for work on the maintenance of citizens in quarantine and treatment - 1.2 trillion soums.

Senators also paid attention to such cases as insufficient execution of expenditures in the reporting period, in particular, incomplete financing of current expenditures and capital investments.

It was also noted that in today’s difficult conditions of the pandemic, certain work has been carried out to restore the economy, ensure strong social protection and health of the population.

Along with this, the senators noted the importance of building preschool educational institutions, secondary schools and health care institutions on the ground, overhauling and current repairs of existing ones, equipping them with modern means, as well as increasing attention to the construction and repair of internal roads in the regions.

In addition, it was emphasized that in the reporting period, it is necessary to pay attention to the targeted and effective use of budgetary funds, to strengthen control over budget expenditures and to maintain an open, transparent report in local Kengashes in this regard.

The need for social support and an increase in the level of employment of the population, reduction of poverty and strengthening of targeted social protection was also emphasized.

The meeting adopted a resolution of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on the approval of the report on the execution of the State budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for nine months of 2020.
