Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The heads of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan plan to make mutual visits in 2024, said the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Ashgabat Akmaljon Kuchkarov.

According to Sputnik Uzbekistan, he noted that the details of such visits are currently being agreed upon through diplomatic channels, including the time and location.

Kuchkarov also emphasized that during the period from 2017 to 2023, the volume of mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan increased more than five times, reaching US$1.09 billion in 2023.

The ambassador also noted that good trade in natural gas and electricity between the countries continues, and an agreement was concluded in 2023 to supply 2 billion cubic meters of Turkmen gas to Uzbekistan.

The ambassador also emphasized plans to develop industrial cooperation between the two countries, noting that such efforts will help improve the well-being of the peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
