Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 April, the khokim of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov met with a delegation led by the head of the city of Yekaterinburg of the Russian Federation Alexey Orlov.

Shavkat Umurzakov said that on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a favorable investment and business environment has been created in the country, in particular in the capital Tashkent. He also expressed the readiness of the khokimiyat to discuss areas of effective cooperation.

Alexey Orlov noted that he was glad to visit Tashkent as part of the IV international exhibition “Innoprom. Central Asia” and expressed confidence that this visit will open the door to great opportunities. He spoke in detail about the possibilities of Yekaterinburg in the field of logistics, heavy and light industry, information technology, medicine and other areas, proposing to establish mutually beneficial cooperation.

Umurzakov supported the guest’s initiatives and noted that major projects are being implemented in Tashkent in various areas, such as the development of road and transport infrastructure, the creation of an inclusive environment for residents and the construction of a smart city. He also said that mutual cooperation has broad opportunities.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to identify promising areas of joint work and continue the dialogue at a more detailed level.
