The heads of states of the CIS adopted a Statement on cooperation on the harmonization of public administration systems in the field of digital technologies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The heads of states of the Commonwealth of Independent States adopted a Statement on Cooperation on the harmonization of public administration systems in the field of digital technologies. 

The document was signed at a meeting of the Council of Heads of states of the CIS, which took place on 13 October  2023 in Bishkek. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

In the Statement, the heads of states recognize the relevance of the issue of creating a digital infrastructure for the further development of society, which will improve the efficiency of government agencies in order to stimulate the creation of innovative technologies.

The document also notes that in modern conditions the Internet is a global resource, the potential of which is used, among other things, in the interests of implementing the digital transformation of public administration systems. At the same time, the importance of increasing the number of socially significant services available electronically is especially emphasized.

The leaders of the Commonwealth countries noted that in the CIS member states, draft digital codes are being developed, digital documents are coming into force and recognized as legally significant, the process of communication between citizens and government institutions is being simplified, and e-government concepts are being formed.

Based on this, the heads of the CIS states declared their intention to increase cooperation in the harmonization of public administration systems in the field of digital technologies and ensuring respect for human rights in the context of digitalization, and advocated for deepening cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of digital transformation of the public sector, contributing to increasing the efficiency of the provision of public services and ensuring information security, supported interaction and exchange of best practices in improving the management system of national segments of the Internet.

The text of the Statement also expresses confidence that cooperation between the CIS member states in the field of improving public administration in the field of digital technologies will make a significant contribution to international efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
