Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov. This was reported by the press service of the Government of Kyrgyzstan.

The parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, and also "synchronized watches" on the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Kyrgyz Republic.

“I am convinced that the practical implementation of the voiced initiatives and agreements of the heads of our states will create a multiplier effect for the economic development of border areas, attract additional investment, strengthen transport accessibility, create new jobs and ultimately help improve the living conditions of the population,” said the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers also noted that over the 30-year period, a lot of work has been done between the two republics to expand and strengthen Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations in the spirit of brotherhood, mutual understanding and support.

In this context, Akylbek Japarov stressed that the economies of the two countries have sufficient potential to overcome the US$2 billion mark in foreign trade in the near future.

“This goal can be achieved, among other things, by increasing mutual supplies of cement, coal, non-ferrous metals, agricultural and textile products, chemical fertilizers, household and commercial equipment, and pharmaceuticals,” the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers said.

In turn, the Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov expressed his readiness to make every effort to implement all existing agreements and ready-made projects.
