The government of Uzbekistan allows the export of vegetable oil

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan lifted the ban on the export of vegetable oil - cottonseed, sunflower and soybean, including oils from imported oilseed crops.

This is envisaged by the decree of the Government of Uzbekistan from 13 March.

The Customs Committee of Uzbekistan clarified that restrictions on the export of vegetable and fruit seed oils to foreign countries have been lifted. At the same time, the lifting of restrictions does not apply to sunflower and cottonseed oil (HS code 1512) and mixed oils (HS code 1517 90 910 0).

All economic entities can export vegetable oils that were obtained from the processing of oilseeds (cotton, sunflower and soybeans), as well as vegetable oils that they imported in certain quantities.

The Customs Committee noted that when determining the volume of vegetable oil that can be exported, the volumes of oilseeds and vegetable oils imported by business entities from January 1, 2024 (from 17 to 50%) are taken into account.

On 1 June 2022, Uzbekistan introduced a ban on the export of cottonseed, sunflower and other vegetable oils. This decision was made in order to satisfy domestic demand and stabilize prices.
