The government commission studies the implementation of projects in Andijan region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 October, the Government Commission on Foreign Trade, Investments, Development of Local Industry and Technical Regulation under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and composed of heads of ministries, departments and commercial banks continued field work already in Andijan region.

During the visit, members of the Government Commission visited a number of large production facilities, such as the project for the production of leather and footwear products by Elegant Shoes And LLC, a diversified production complex created on the basis of the College of Light Industry, a special industrial zone "HAB of Andijan region", specializing in the production of electrical products. They also visited a 600-hectare vineyard of Asaka uzum va bog’lari LLC, a yarn and cotton fabric enterprise of NIL GRANIT LLC, and a vegetable oil production of Khantex Oil LLC.

These enterprises are one of the locomotives of the region’s economic development. For example, Sayyora Favvorasi LLC, which was also visited by members of the Government Commission, provided jobs for 1,000 people and exports products worth US$8 million a year; and China products at US$8.7 million a year. About 600 new jobs have been created at the greenhouses of Sabo Hamkor LLC, and the annual export potential is US$7 million.

On the same day, a meeting of the leadership of the Government Commission with manufacturers and exporters was organized in Andijan. It was attended by more than 100 entrepreneurs of the region, who voiced 135 problems they faced in their activities. After a detailed consideration of issues related mainly to financial support for initiators of investment projects and exporters, allocation of land plots, empty buildings and structures, access of domestic products to foreign markets, obtaining various certificates and permits, connection to engineering and communication networks, on 50 appeals solution mechanisms were developed, and the responsible managers were given appropriate targeted instructions indicating clear deadlines for implementation.

Following the meeting, the heads of ministries, departments, commercial banks and local authorities were instructed to intensify work on systemic support for entrepreneurs in the region.
