Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, Deputy Chairman of the NOC, head of the WT Taekwondo Association of Uzbekistan Sherzod Tashmatov met with the WT taekwondo coaching staff and reviewed the plan for upcoming competitions for the current sports season based on the updated calendar of the World Taekwondo Federation. The meeting was attended by the coaching staff of the National team headed by Pavel Khan, representatives of sports medicine.

Sherzod Tashmatov noted that it is necessary to prepare for each upcoming competition on the basis of an individual approach. Preparations for the Asian and Olympic Games received support from the state. And this, in turn, requires even greater responsibility from athletes in a worthy performance in the international arena. In addition, he noted that domestic taekwondo athletes at the upcoming responsible competitions of the year should at least repeat the result of the Fujairah Open tournament.

In turn, Pavel Khan, based on the calendar of the International Organization, provided information about the competitions in which the representatives of the National Team are planned to participate. He stressed that the focus will be on the World Championship, the Asian Games and the Grand Prix final tournament.

During the conversation, the proposed composition of athletes who will defend the honor of our country at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games was discussed. The Deputy Chairman of the NOC pointed out that along with the main team, it is necessary to train a reserve, taekwondo athletes must be included in the Olympic zone in each weight category. He also gave additional recommendations on the formation of an individual diet for each athlete in order to facilitate the process of weight loss.
