Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan plans to completely eradicate AIDS in Uzbekistan by 2030. This was reported at a press conference held at AIMK with the participation of the leadership and officials of the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health and the Republican AIDS Center

Currently, more than 48,000 people with HIV have been identified in the republic.

Over the past 5 years, the number of HIV tests has increased 5 times, or from 700,000 to 3.5 million. Financing of medicines by our state amounted to 80%.

In order to stop the transmission of HIV infection from mother to child in the republic annually (up to 600 on average), children born to sick mothers are continuously provided with powdered milk formulas. As a result, 99.7% of children are healthy.
