Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On approval of certain regulatory documents regulating the activities of the Inspectorate for Monitoring the Safety of Water Facilities and Water Use under the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted.

In accordance with Presidential Decree “On measures for the effective organization of public administration in the field of water management within the framework of administrative reforms,” the tasks, functions, rights and responsibilities of the Inspectorate for Monitoring the Safety of Water Facilities and Water Use are defined at the Ministry of Water Resources.

In particular, the following functions of the Inspectorate for Control of the Agro-Industrial Complex under the Ministry of Agriculture were transferred to it:

control over the rational management of water resources, compliance with the rules (order) of water use and water consumption on all surface water bodies;

implementation of a set of measures to identify offenses in the water sector, taking measures to eliminate their causes and conditions;

consideration of cases of administrative offenses in the field of water use on all surface water bodies.

The document approved:

Regulations on the Inspectorate for Monitoring the Safety of Water Facilities and Water Use;

Regulations on the Expert Council under the Inspectorate;

List of particularly important objects of hydraulic structures.

Also, changes and additions have been made to some government decisions regarding the transferred functions.
