The founding meeting of the Uzbek-Lithuanian Business Forum and the Council of Entrepreneurs was held

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 6 to 10 May, a delegation of business representatives, led by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, is visiting Vilnius, the Republic of Lithuania.

As part of the visit, the founding meeting of the Uzbek-Lithuanian Business Forum and the Council of Entrepreneurs was held, which was attended by about 70 representatives of the business community of both countries working in various sectors, including agriculture, poultry farming, construction, textile and logistics industries, as well as other areas . Bilateral meetings in B2B format were also organized.

The event was opened by the President of the Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists Vidmantas Yanjulevichius and the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Dilshod Rasulov.

During the forum, an agreement was reached on the creation of the Council of Entrepreneurs between the Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and the founding meeting of this Council was held.

Forum participants took part in a presentation demonstrating the investment potential of both countries and business prospects for the development of trade and economic relations.

As a result of the event, agreements were reached aimed at developing bilateral cooperation between representatives of the business communities of the two countries.

According to data for 2023, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Lithuania amounted to US$606.2 million. Exports to Lithuania amounted to US$133.2 million, imports - US$472.8 million.

There are 30 enterprises in Uzbekistan with the participation of Lithuanian investors, including 12 enterprises with 100% participation of Lithuanian capital and 18 joint ventures.
