Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the morning of 20 April, the first regular freight train departed from the city of Chongqing in Southwest China bound for Uzbekistan, marking an important step in expanding logistical cooperation between China and the countries of Central Asia, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The train will deliver polyester pellets produced by local enterprises to the region. According to China Railway Chengdu Group Co., Ltd., the route will be serviced on a regular basis, with two trips scheduled per month.

The launch of this new rail route will strengthen the region’s trade and economic ties and contribute to deeper integration within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
