Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 July, the first meeting of the Youth Parliament under the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in the form of video conference. During the meeting, organizational issues were considered.

It was noted that in order to ensure the implementation of the State Program for the implementation of the Action Strategy in five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021 in the “Year of Science, Education and Digital Economy Development”, a Youth Parliament was created under the Senate.

On the basis of the recommendations of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city Kengashes of people’s deputies, the Senate Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports, and the Youth Union, the Kengash of the Senate approved members of the Youth Parliament.

During the event, the chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Youth, Culture and Sports Bakhtiyor Sayfullaev, I cordially greet the members of the Youth Parliament, noted that this structure consists of initiative young men and women who faithfully serve the Motherland, work and study in various fields, have high spirituality , the ability to think independently, a solid life position, a broad outlook and deep knowledge, as well as leadership qualities.

“We believe that, feeling a great responsibility on your shoulders, you will justify the high trust placed in you, become worthy representatives in the upper chamber of millions of young citizens of the country,” said Bakhtiyor Sayfullaev, chairman of the Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports. - In our country in recent years, broad opportunities have been created for young people to manifest themselves not only as creators of tomorrow, but also as a decisive force in today’s transformations. The Youth Parliament Commissions are divided into areas based on five important initiatives put forward by the President. We hope that the members of the Commissions in the areas they supervise will make a worthy contribution to the transformation of five important initiatives into a real popular movement. The Youth Parliament will become a high tribune for our young men and women, studying the problems of youth in each region, establishing their causes and developing proposals for their solution. In this work, I wish them a good start.

As part of the agenda, the candidacy of Mohistara Mukhammadyunusova was considered for the post of Chairman of the Youth Parliament.

Mohistara Mukhammadyunusova was born in 1995 in Markhamat district of Andijan region. She is one of the courageous youth representatives who have spoken from the rostrum of the United Nations. She studied at the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, Webster University in Tashkent. She also worked as the coordinator of the English language trainer of the Central Council of the Youth Union, senior specialist of the Department of Methodological Support of the Institute for the Study of Youth Problems and Training of Perspective Personnel at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, senior researcher of the scientific department of this institute, chief coordinator of the republican club "Voice of Girls". She is also a student of the course on International Women’s Health and Human Rights at Stanford University.

Mohistara Mukhammadyunusova’s candidacy for the post of Chairman of the Youth Parliament was unanimously approved.

During the meeting, issues of electing the Deputy Chairman of the Youth Parliament, chairmen of commissions, secretary of the Youth Parliament, development of draft regulations and work plans of the Youth Parliament and other organizational issues were also considered.
