Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the visit of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, head of the presidential administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov to Uzbekistan, the first meeting of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz working group on cooperation in the field of agriculture was held.

Relations between the countries of the Central Asian region have completely transformed in recent years, including contacts between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan increased. After solving a number of issues that determine the further development of fruitful cooperation, a completely new stage of interaction began, especially in the field of agriculture.

Moreover, the two border states have something to talk about. This also applies to the development of fish farming. The corresponding memorandum was signed between the Research Institute of Fisheries under the Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.

The theme of organic agriculture is becoming increasingly relevant in the development of the agricultural sector, when the highest quality of agricultural products with the ECO brand is achieved. It is no coincidence that during the first meeting of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz working group on cooperation in the field of agriculture, a memorandum was signed between the domestic research institute for quarantine and plant protection of the relevant republican agency and the department of organic agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.

Also, a memorandum was signed between the two ministries on the implementation of joint projects in the field of horticulture and fruit and berry crops. Moreover, the provision of seeds and seedlings is already carried out thanks to the successful work of the joint intergovernmental commission.

The climatic conditions of Kyrgyzstan are favorable for growing potatoes. Due to the establishment of close bilateral cooperation in recent years, contours have been determined in three regions of the neighboring state, where it will be grown and then directly delivered to Uzbekistan. In addition, the mechanisms for creating an agrologistic center for processing and selling livestock products have been fully defined. Here, a cycle is defined from breeding livestock to complete processing of meat and the production of meat products.

Also, according to the signed agreements, territories are determined for growing fruit and berry products in intensive orchards and greenhouses in a number of regions of Kyrgyzstan, in order to increase the volume of agricultural production and its further export.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, at the initial stage it is planned to implement projects worth more than US$50 million.
