The first master class of the UNWTO Academy and ICCA in the meeting industry take place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An analysis of trends in the global tourism market currently shows that in addition to traditional activities, new modern types of tourism are widely popularized in the industry. This suggests that participants in the global tourism market note the development of the sector not so much in the number of tourists as in the level of income they receive, providing quality services to potential tourists.

In turn, such tourist destinations lay the foundation for the growth of an intellectual society in the country, the introduction of services that comply with international standards in a number of tourism-oriented areas. This type of tourism requires a high level of service for high-ranking government and business persons.

The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on tourism development, based on the targets and international experience of MICE tourism, in 2019-2025 carries out practical work on the implementation of the MICE Tourism Development Concept in Uzbekistan, developing a strategy and action plan, creating a separate state institution (under the Committee), related to the development of MICE tourism in the country, the creation of the necessary infrastructure in the country for the development of MICE tourism, the establishment of active cooperation with the International Congress Association conferences (ICCA).

The main goal of this master class is to study the experience of leading world experts in raising the level of business events held in our country, further enhancing the potential of MICE tourism in Uzbekistan and increasing income from project implementation. Participants in these workshops will be able to learn for free and expand the necessary knowledge and skills for conducting events in their field through practical exercises provided by ICCA and the UNWTO Academy.

It should be noted that in recent years, the scale of international world-class events, festivals, conferences and congresses has been expanding. Thousands of specialists, scientists, statesmen and public figures participate in international forums covering global topics. As noted above, this area requires the possession of highly qualified personnel, world-class services, international experience in this direction, combined with national flavor.

In this regard, cooperation with the International Association of Congresses and Conferences (ICCA) is of great importance. In fact, many people know that organizing events involving such large institutions is quite complicated. As a result of negotiations between the leadership of the State Committee for Tourism Development with UNWTO and ICCA officials during their visit to Zagreb (Croatia) in May 2019, an agreement was reached on holding trainings and master classes in our country by representatives of this prestigious international organization. ICCA is an international organization uniting the founders of the most prestigious events in the world.

There is no doubt that the representatives of this organization will conduct training for the first time, share industry secrets with colleagues in our country, and open a unique school of excellence for representatives of the field. Of course, ICCA organization of master classes for specialists in our country means confidence that in due time Uzbekistan will create conditions for holding large-scale international conferences in the eyes of the world community.

Based on the foregoing, at the initiative and proposal of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the development of tourism on the basis of a statement by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 01-14 / 1-54 of July 3, 2019, the First International Gastronomic Festival was held on 9-11 August 2019 in Tashkent. Within the framework of this festival, the State Committee for Tourism Development together with specialists from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the International Association of Conferences and Congresses (ICCA) on 10 August hosted a full-day training and master class for representatives of government agencies and the private sector.
