The first container train from India to Kazakhstan sets off with the support of Uztemiryulkonteyner.
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of efforts to expand transport corridors and develop international freight transportation, the first container train from India to Kazakhstan has been launched with the support of Uztemiryulkonteyner JSC, TLCT OJSC, and Kedentransservice JSC.
The train, consisting of 12 twenty-foot containers, departed from the port of Mundra (India) and is en route to the Sorokovaya station in Kazakhstan. The route passes through Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, covering 1,585 kilometers by sea and 4,300 kilometers by rail.
Previously, container shipments along this route were successfully conducted from India to Uzbekistan (Mundra – Sergeli). M.K. Mirkhamidov, Chairman of the Board of Uztemiryulkonteyner JSC, emphasized that the company aims to establish regular container train shipments along the India–Central Asia multimodal corridor. This initiative is expected to strengthen trade ties and enhance export and import opportunities for businesses.
