Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – In order to increase the attractiveness and ensure more active participation of representatives of the tourism industry of the CIS member states, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the development of tourism proposed to organize a regular meeting of the Council in Samarkand during the meeting of the Council of Tourism of the CIS member states on 10-11 August 2018 in Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
The main purpose of the event is to establish a direct dialogue between the business communities and the authorities of the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of tourism, exchange of experience, improvement of conditions for bringing tourism services produced in the CIS to foreign markets, identifying joint investment projects, maintaining the spirit of “cooperation and good neighborliness” .
Representatives of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan, foreign partners and guests from Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan take part in the events.
In recent years, decisions of the Heads of State and Government of the Republic have taken large-scale measures to further develop the tourism infrastructure, diversify the tourist product and attract tourists to Uzbekistan. Active work is under way to revive tourism on the Silk Road transcontinental route.
The strategic goal of the document is to improve the efficiency of the reforms to create favorable economic conditions and prerequisites, develop priority goals and objectives for the accelerated development of the tourism industry, increase its role and contribution to the economy, diversify and improve the quality of services, and improve the tourism infrastructure.
A. Akkulov, acting Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism, said that about 20 privileges and preferences, as well as tax and customs privileges, including construction and organization of hotel facilities, theme parks, import of motor vehicles of a tourist class and others, are provided to stimulate entrepreneurial activity in the tourism industry .
The government of Uzbekistan made a decision aimed at stimulating investment in the development of tourist infrastructure facilities. In particular, the government pays funds for attraction of foreign hotel brands.
These measures have allowed to significantly stimulate investment in the construction of new modern hotels.
The organizers of the First Annual Tourism Fair of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Samarkand are the State Tourism Development Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the CIS Executive Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Samarkand Khokimiyat.
Among the participants of the tourism fair are relevant ministries and departments, heads of local authorities, representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations accredited in the country of the organizer, representatives of the tourist business from the CIS countries, leading local and foreign media.
