Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The largest financial portal in Germany, Finanzen.net, published an interview with €uro am Sonntag magazine correspondent (published by Finanzen.net) Christophe Platt with the former Minister of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan (now the Minister of Agriculture) Jamshid Khojayev.

The interview was published at the end of the visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Germany in January 2019 and is devoted to the economic potential of our country.

Answering the questions of the publication, Jamshid Khojaev noted that today Uzbekistan is trying to expand its cooperation with foreign, including German companies. The republic is taking significant measures to liberalize the economy and create a favorable investment climate. Of particular importance is the harmonization of trade legislation with the requirements of the World Trade Organization and the subsequent accession to this organization.

The interview provides data on trade volumes between Germany and Uzbekistan, which since 2017 rose to 700 million euros. It is noted that agricultural products and textiles make up the bulk of Uzbek exports.

It was underlined the importance of assigning the country a credit rating by international rating agencies S&P and Fitch at the level of BB- with a stable outlook for the expansion of the capital market for the issue of the first Eurobonds.

In conclusion, it was said that the possibilities of economic development of Uzbekistan have significantly expanded due to the intensification of regional cooperation and the implementation of the project on the revival of the Silk Road.
