Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The film "Kazbek" produced by Uzbekistan and Belarus will be released in May 2023. Director General of the Belarusfilm film studio Vladimir Karachevsky said this at a press conference dedicated to the film, BelTA has learned.

“This is the first Belarusian-Uzbek film project. Filming started in May in Uzbekistan and in August-September-October will continue first in Belarus, then again in Uzbekistan. By 9 May 2023, we must release the film "Kazbek" in the world distribution. We also want to agree with our colleagues from Russia and Central Asia on the distribution of the film in these countries,” said Vladimir Karachevsky.

The duration of the film is 110 minutes, the composition of the actors, as well as the scriptwriters, is international. “These are Belarusian, Uzbek, Russian and German actors. Real and bright characters,” the director general of the film studio emphasized.

The film "Kazbek" is the story of the exploits of Mamadali Topvaldyev - the hero of the Soviet Union, the commander of the intelligence department of the partisan brigade "Chekist" in Mogilev region. “This is a real story of life in a partisan detachment that fought on the territory of Belarus. There were Jews, and Germans, and Russians, and Belarusians, and Ukrainians, people of all ages,” Vladimir Karachevsky said.

According to him, the film "Kazbek" is both military action and drama. “There will be places in the film where you can cry. The age category is 12+, but, in general, there are no age restrictions: we will not see vulgarity and vulgarity in this film,” said the director general of the Belarusfilm film studio.

The presentation of the film "Kazbek" is planned at the 14th Tashkent International Film Festival. “In addition, of course, we want to present the film at our international film festival Listapad. The main thing is that we make a film that the audience is waiting for, we are working for them,” concluded Vladimir Karachevsky.

“We took the most intense and interesting moments from the life of a hero in combat conditions. And the Uzbek side plans to shoot a TV series based on the film Kazbek, which will tell the biographical story of Mamadali Topvaldyev: his life before and after the war,” added Muhammad Ali Iskandarov, director of the film.

Films produced by the film studio "Belarusfilm" will be presented at the film festival in Tashkent.
