Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The festival “Pushkin in Uzbekistan” was held in Tashkent with the support of the Moscow Department of External Economic and International Relations (FEIR).
A series of events was dedicated to the memory of the work of the great Russian poet. The main goals of the event were to popularize the Russian language and the work of the great Russian poet among the youth of Uzbekistan.
The Festival started on the birthday of the great Russian poet. Representatives of the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan, employees of the Russian House in Tashkent, members of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, students, schoolchildren, representatives of the public and the media gathered at the monument to Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin in the center of Tashkent to lay wreaths. Tashkent artistic groups showed a musical and theatrical composition based on the works of A.S. Pushkin. During theatrical performances, the children demonstrated their vision of the poet’s work and knowledge of the Russian language.
The finale of the Festival’s series of events was the Pushkin Ball, which took place at the end of December 2023. Each participant was able to feel the era in which the poet lived. In addition to dancing, the participants demonstrated their erudition by taking part in competitions for the best recitation of Pushkin’s lines, as well as their knowledge of the life and environment of the great poet. More than 200 people took part in the event.
