The festival of Chinese language and culture takes place in Tashkent as part of the Chinese Language Day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A festival of Chinese language and culture called "Chinese language is a bridge of friendship between the youth of Uzbekistan and China", dedicated to the Day of the Chinese Language, was held on Thursday in the capital of Uzbekistan, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Within the framework of the festival, organized by the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan, reproductions of Chinese art, culture, calligraphic works, as well as paper ornaments and traditional tea ceremonies, demonstration of wushu elements, performance of musical and dance numbers were presented.

The event was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, university students, students of secondary schools, lovers and experts in the Chinese language and culture.

Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan Zhang Wei, Director of the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy in Uzbekistan Kabuljon Sabirov, Secretary General of the SCO China Committee for Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Zheng Wei, Director of the Uzbek-Chinese Confucius Institute - Professor Yang Shihu /from the Chinese side/, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese National Cultural Center in Tashkent Zhang Linlin attended the event.

Honored guests noted that such events would serve the benefit of friendly relations between the two peoples, lay a solid foundation for the preservation and development of Uzbek-Chinese cooperation in the future, and the study of languages provides an opportunity to interact with the cultures and traditions of the two countries, which is the basis for strengthening close friendship and good neighborliness.

The development of cooperation in the field of language and culture between Uzbekistan and China lays a solid foundation for friendly Uzbek-Chinese relations and serves as a source of fruitful cooperation.

Chinese Language Day is an annual holiday celebrated on 20 April. It was established by UNESCO in 2010 and aims to promote multilingualism and cultural diversity.
