Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 August 2019, an Agreement on extradition between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey from 30 April 2018 entered into force.
The agreement is aimed at expanding cooperation in the criminal law sphere and ensuring more effective interaction between the two countries in the fight against crime.
The document envisages the procedure and conditions for the extradition of persons, the grounds for refusing to issue, the form and content of the request, as well as the necessary supporting documents to be transmitted to the requested party.
In accordance with the Agreement, each party undertakes to extradite to the requesting party those persons who are wanted to prosecute or execute a sentence for an extradition offense.
