Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A citizen of Bukhara region, who was driving a vehicle while intoxicated, offered a bribe in the amount of US$100 to the traffic police inspector for not filling out an administrative protocol against him for committing an offense and taking the vehicle out of the penalty area. 

On the basis of the report of the inspector addressed to the head of the Department of Internal Affairs on 6 March, at approximately 11:40 am, employees of the law enforcement bodies carried out a joint operational event, during which a vehicle site located in city of Kagan, a citizen was detained with material evidence while giving a bribe to an inspector in the amount of US$100.

On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of article 211 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a preliminary investigation is currently underway.
