Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Kashkadarya region, the director of the Barkamol Avlod children’s school was detained for bribery, the press service of the State Security Service said in a statement.

The director offered the deputy director of one of the schools in Karshi district the position of head of the department of preschool and school education in Yakkabag district, stating that she had connections with high-ranking officials who could secure the appointment.

She asked for US$55,000 for her “services.” She was detained after receiving US$30,000.

A criminal case has been initiated into this fact. An investigation is underway.
