Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 November, the World Pilaf championship, a culinary championship aimed at popularizing gastronomic tourism, was held in the Bog’ishamal garden suburban area.
At the event, skilled chefs from all regions of the republic competed in cooking pilaf. During the event, in addition to the Uzbek traditional pilaf, Armenian and Turkish pilaf were cooked.
The first place was taken by “bayram pilaf”, the second “Samarkand pilaf”, and the third - “teahouse pilaf”. All participants were awarded with certificates. This celebration was also attended by participants and guests of the Central Asian Conference (WTCF), who had the opportunity not only to taste pilaf, but also to get acquainted with the traditions and customs of the Uzbek people.
During the event, songs of folk artists were also performed, the performance of the folk group “Chavki” was performed, theatrical performances dedicated to the period of Sahibkiran Amir Temur were demonstrated. The organizers of this event are the Department for Tourism Development of the Samarkand region together with the Association of Chefs of Uzbekistan.
