The construction of key facilities for the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway project starts
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A ceremonial event marking the start of construction on key infrastructure for the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway project took place today in the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The ceremony was attended by a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan, including representatives from the Ministry of Transport and the joint-stock company "Uzbekistan Temir Yullari" (Uzbekistan Railways).
The "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway construction project involves the construction of three tunnels with a total length of over 10 km.
These include Tunnel No. 1 Naryn (Djaman-Davan), which is 12.5 km long, the Kosh-toba (Kyzarman) tunnel, which spans 13.2 km, and the Fergana mountain tunnel, which stretches 12.2 km.
It is worth noting that the official ceremony for the start of the railway construction was held on 27 December 2024, in the city of Jalal-Abad. The total length of the railway route will be 532.53 km.
