The conference of engineering and technical universities of Uzbekistan and Russia ends

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A conference on the topic “Prospects for higher technical education in the conditions of scientific and technological progress” was held in Tashkent.

The event was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kongratbai Sharipov, and the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Afanasyev.

The conference emphasized the need to continue the implementation of interuniversity projects in the field of training in popular areas of the labor market. Particular attention was paid to expanding joint scientific and innovative research and improving the qualifications of teachers.

Minister Kongratbay Sharipov noted the importance of focusing on the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in master's, postgraduate and doctoral studies. He stated: “It is important to create “Schools of Advanced Engineering Schools” in cooperation between universities of Uzbekistan and Russia, specializing in such important areas as transport, logistics, mechanical engineering, geology, metallurgy, energy, chemistry, as well as cluster systems 'enterprise-university-scientific' organization' and innovation centers".

During the plenary sessions, rectors of engineering and technical universities of the two countries shared their experience in creating advanced engineering schools (ESS) and discussed current directions for the development of technical education and prospects for cooperation in the field of science and production.

The rector of the Tashkent Technical University, academician S. Turabjanov, in his report noted the creation of the laboratory “Energy Saving and Renewable Energy Sources”, a testing ground for transformers with a capacity of 600 kW, as well as a testing ground for a solar and wind power plant with a capacity of 1.8 MW. Technical specifications for NSP equipment were developed and the necessary equipment and material and technical base were provided. The academician also proposed his ideas for the further development of advanced engineering schools.

Rector of the National Research University "MPEI" Nikolay Rogalev shared the experience of the National Research University "MPEI" in training personnel for the Russian energy sector, noting the presence of the only educational and experimental thermal power plant in the country with a modern highly efficient combined cycle power unit and cooperation with more than 700 organizations, including the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Gazprom , Rosatom and others.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Tashkent State Transport University Abdulaziz Gulamov made a report on the advanced engineering school of transport engineering. He noted that the goal and objectives of NSP transport engineering are to train world-class engineers through involvement in real projects in the fields of education, science and production. Under the leadership of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, the phased implementation of advanced engineering schools and other innovative units of transport engineering in high-tech companies and the real sector of the economy of Uzbekistan is being carried out.

Following the discussion and exchange of experience at the conference, the participants adopted a joint statement on the further development of cooperation in the field of transport, logistics, mechanical engineering, geology, metallurgy, energy, chemistry, IT technologies and other important areas. About 40 cooperation agreements were signed between engineering and technical universities of the two countries.

Minister Kongratbay Sharipov noted that the consistent integration of the educational space of Russia and Uzbekistan, the development of the intellectual and creative potential of citizens is beneficial to both countries. He emphasized the activity and consistency of cooperation, manifested in joint training programs, interuniversity educational and scientific projects, teacher training programs, and regular joint forums and conferences.
