Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21-24 November 2023, Tashkent hosted a set of business and cultural events organized by the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of the city of Moscow with the support of the Tashkent city Khokimiyat, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
As part of the events, the Tashkent Khokimiyat hosted a meeting of the Moscow delegation. The meeting was headed by Sergey Cheremin, the Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of the City of Moscow with A.Y. Hyun Deputy Khokim, Head of the Department of Digital Development. The parties noted the positive dynamics of relations between the two capitals, and also stressed the need to sign a bilateral memorandum of cooperation between Moscow and Tashkent in order to further expand cooperation in the fields of digital development, infrastructure, healthcare, transport, education, etc.
On November 23, 2023, the City Palace Tashkent Hotel hosted a Forum of Creative Cities dedicated to business and cultural cooperation between Moscow and Tashkent. The opening business round table in the field of sustainable development was organized with the support of the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the discussion club "Ecumene". Sergey Cheryomin delivered a welcoming speech and a presentation of the latest achievements of the capital in the field of sustainable development. The discussion was also attended by Mr. Zlygostev, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uzbekistan, Gennady Burkhanov, Deputy Director for Big Data of the Department of Digital Development of the Tashkent Khokimiyat, Mr. Rybakov, Program Director of the Ecumene discussion Club, Mr. Kuznetsov, Deputy Director of the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and others. Mr. Polikanov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States and Compatriots Living Abroad, addressed the participants of the round table (online). In the final part of the event, representatives of two Russian companies – ANO "Russian Hospital" and JSC NTC "Constructor" made presentations of their own innovative practices and solutions.
Further, with the support of the Charitable Foundation for Social Initiatives "Peace and Harmony", a thematic round table on cultural and humanitarian cooperation was held. During the discussion, the participants discussed practical issues of Russian-Uzbek cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as exchanged ideas on the implementation of cultural events in Tashkent in 2024.
The cultural program of the Complex began with a performance by the Moscow Academic Musical Theater named after Konstantin Stanislavsky and Vladinir Nemirovich-Danchenko at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. Also, an exhibition of the unique and original Russian artist Elena Kutuzova "Cities" was solemnly opened in the Tashkent House of Photography for residents of Tashkent.
The Tashkent Diocese, with the support of the Moscow Government, delighted the young residents of Tashkent with a presentation of the Moscow estate of Santa Claus, consisting of a performance and interactive game programs, and at the end of the events on November 24, the Russian balalaika virtuoso Mikhail Kandaurov performed.
The holding of a set of events by the Moscow Government is of particular importance for strengthening mutually beneficial ties and establishing a productive dialogue between Moscow and Tashkent.
