Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Competition Committee of Uzbekistan accepts complaints about false advertising about discounts.

Recently, information about promotions and discounts related to holidays, company anniversaries, etc. has been disseminated on social networks.

The committee notes that large shopping centers and stores often raise prices for goods before holidays and then announce discounts, while the real prices of goods remain unchanged, and discounts are not always presented correctly, sometimes creating the impression of a significant reduction in prices.

In accordance with Article 6 of the Law “On Protection of Consumer Rights”, sellers are obliged to provide consumers with reliable information about their goods and services.

According to Article 16 of the Law “On Advertising”, the distribution of inappropriate, including false advertising is prohibited.

To combat such violations, the committee encourages complaints about false advertising to be sent to the call center at 1159.
