The Committee on Competition and Consumer Protection is studying the conditions of equal competition for manufacturers in retail chains

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Committee on Competition and Consumer Protection is studying the conditions of equal competition for manufacturers in retail chains.

In this regard, the Committee requests active participation in this study of business entities (domestic manufacturers) who, in large retail chains, faced situations where a product supplier or supply proposal was rejected, including under the following circumstances.

In particular, from large retail chains:

- unreasonable refusal to conclude a contract if there is the possibility of providing services;

- unilateral influence on the pricing of suppliers’ goods by large retail chains;

- establishing a condition on not concluding an agreement with other large retail chains or agreeing to enter into an agreement with this condition;

- presenting unreasonable demands on suppliers when concluding a contract, including forced acceptance of the terms of payment of a bonus (retro bonus) for the sale of a product and (or) additional payment for its placement in places clearly visible to consumers on the counter;

- establishment of discriminatory conditions for the sale or purchase of goods, including the establishment of different payment terms for the same goods;

- non-compliance with the terms of payment for products;

- creation of unequal conditions in relation to domestic and imported goods and other similar circumstances.

The State Competition Committee reports that entrepreneurs can participate in surveys of the Competition Committee along with proposals and appeals if there are problems related to the above situations and ensuring equal competition in the market.

The working group created by the Committee is conducting comprehensive studies on this matter, and a system has been established for receiving proposals and complaints from entrepreneurs (domestic manufacturers).
